Ignite

lighting a match Moment

Gorse Hill Baptist Church, offers you a warm welcome to Ignite, our Friday night youth group for school years 7-11.

We have a fantastic schedule of activities each term ahead including Games Nights, Chill Nights, Film Nights, Nerf Battle and many more new activities yet to be announced.

Ignite is now charges 50p entry. This is to help contribute to the running costs and our more expensive one off events. If it is your first week then you can come in for free.

We provide snacks most nights and sometimes cook food for the youth. However, we can't guarantee how much food there will be to go round so do make sure your youth are fed before coming.

We are a church based youth group, and as such it is important for you to be aware that there is a short discussion element each week. This involves looking at God’s word in the Bible and talking about Jesus, his son, who came to earth to have a relationship with us. Please talk to
one of the leaders if you would like more information.

If this is the first time you have come to Ignite and you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to come and talk to one of the leaders, we’re always happy to help answer any questions you might have and it would be great to meet you!

A Few Notes To Adults About Safety

Each week a responsible person will need to drop your child off and sign-them in.

Please complete a registration form, it’s important we have up to date information about you and your child in the case of emergency. If you are happy for your child to walk home after Ignite, please fill in the ‘Walking Home’ form. During the winter months, we would like to request that you collect your child for their safety.

As a church we are committed to providing a safe environment for activities with children and young people and have adopted ways of working with children and young people that promote their safety and well-being. It recognises it’s responsibilities for the safeguarding of all children and young people under the age of 18 as set out in The Children Act 1989 and 2004, Safe from Harm (HM Government 1994) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (HM Government 2010). Each year we review and re-affirm our commitment to our Safeguarding Policy.

This week '12th November' the youth will be taking part in a night walk. To take part though, they must have written permission from a parent or guardian. You can get the details for Zoom by emailing, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or texting 07832285488 (Jacob).

CFC is also back for the younger ones, Zoom details can be requested from the same details above. All activities are currently online (for obvious reasons) but we hope that it can bring an element of fun into your Friday evenings, and a chance to chat to some others your own age.

See you there.
