GHBC wins £5,000 award

We were recently awarded £5,000 toward our Bags of Hope project by the Wiltshire Community Foundation to help us continue our work. With closures and redundancies announced across Swindon, Bags of Hope is set to become an important link in the ideas we have to help the needs of our community.

If you can help in anyway, or you you could use a bag of food, do contact Heather and the team.

Boxes of Hope Update

A big thank you to everyone who has donated to our Boxes of Hope appeal. We were able to make up 51 Bags of Hope on Wednesday 17th June and we delivered nearly all of them. The families that received them were referred to us by many different people and organisations around the town and all recipients were very grateful, some overwhelmed, with the generosity of the gift.

However we still have lots of families that require our help; one school that we have spoken to has many families that are in need and require a lot more bags.We have been able to give them just 18 but we need many more as there are still many families in need.

Developing our Mission

One of our members has written a thought provoking booklet and a summary leaflet to help us think how we might develop church groups for those who are not used to coming into church, people who might find it all a bit daunting. Definitely worth a read.

Note these documents are formated for A5 paper, when printing on A4, take the chance to use less paper by selecting the 'Booklet' button when selecting your print options.
